TIME OF THE GENTILES

Let me begin with Enthusiastic Zionist Xtians support for Israel. For years I have been hearing from secular liberal Jews that the Xtian Right which supports israel has an agenda, an ulterior motive for what they do. Don't we all? LOL Secular liberal Jews who have never been into serious religious Judaism fail to understand the TRADITIONAL Jewish mond and why Orthodox Jews [for the most part] willingly accept Xtian support for israel and even, in some cases, seek it out. Remember, back in the day, Rabbi Kahane was the FIRST ORTHODOX JEWs to hold speaking engagements in Xtian places of worship, and that in the face of the fact that Judaism actuallky disallows a Jew to step into a church [Maimonides says that not only can a Jew step into a mosque; he may pray in a mosque; ironic isn't it?]. Be that as it may, towards the end of the last millenium, Orthodox Jews began to realize that Xtian support for Israel is a good thing. While so much of the current gentile world HATES Israel, these people actually want to HELP Israel. Ah yes, the "hidden" agenda, the ulterior motive !!!! Xtians belive that Israel plays a vital part in their end of days eschatology!!!! DUH Double DUH! Now we realize that there are people in the world who do things for others from purely altruistic reasons. On last count, I think I have about three in all my 72 years. face it, MOST of us want a return on investment. Once again, DUH!
So yes, Xtians read their Bibles [much of it written by Jews, btw - yeah even THEIR books], and they hear their religious leaders preach from the Bible, about the end of days, and how vital it is that Israe is the INSTRUMENT through which the end of days is achieved.

Luke 21
20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Does anyone reading this happen to need more clarity?

If these words appeared in OUR section of the Holy Bible, every Orthodox rabbi would support them. So why shouldn't believing Xtians support them?

And why wouldn't YOU, as a believer, want to support Israel? Yeah, you would. The thing that makes it difficult for my liberal secular friends is that they HAVE NEVER BELIEVED, and what's more, they don't understand the TRADITIONAL JEWISH VIEWPOINT about MITSVOT.

The TALMUD teaches Jews that a MITSVAH [good deed] does not require KAVANNAH. Let me clarify. KAVANNAH is a Hebrew word which has an approximate English translation of "intention", "feeling", "direction". It is an emotional accompanyment to action. It is an emtion which INSPIRES us to do a deed. But what if the KAVANNAH is lacking when there is a need for action? No one has the same KAVANNAH as another. KAVANNAH changes from minute to minute. We very rarely experience it when we "wake up on the wrong side of the bed" or when we are depressed or fatigued. Or for any other reason. The Rabbis taught us that we cannot rely on KAVANNAH to inspire us to do goodfor our fellow man and so even when we don't have any feeling at all about a particular action that must be done, we MUST DO IT. Otherwise a poor beggar may come to us and plead for charity for his starving children and the Jewish religion will not allow us to say to him, "Sorry, I just don't have the right KAVANNAH to give you anything. Come back next week when I am in a better mood." What's this have to do with Xtian support for Israel? Suppose I want to give the beggar charity for his family and my KAVANNAH is that I want people to know I am a great guy who helps the poor. That's my hidden agenda, my ulterior motive. Does my Jewish religion tell me I can't do it? OF COURSE NOT! My KAVANNAH is bsides the point. Who cares why I give him what he needs? Does he care? Hell no!

That's the point. If a Xtian wants to help Israel and he has no selfish reason, THEN I AM REALLY SUSPECT! but if he wants to do it because it helps him with his salvation, THAT MAKES PERFECT SENSE TO ME - because as a religious Jew, even as the religious atheist that I am, I understand that his
intentions, his motivations, do not have to be MY intentions or MY motivations. His MITSVOT speak for him and speak to me.

We human beings are funny creatures. We are fickle. That's our nature. We feel one way today and differently tomorrow. That's why KAVANNAH is
bullshit. It's great if you have it but if you don't, that's life. Xtians rely on KAVANNAH because their religion does not have MITSVOT. It has good deeds but that's not quite the same as the Lord commanding them with 613 commandments which they believe are impossible to follow anyway, as good old St Paul says.

So tomorrow they may change their minds and NOT want to support Israel for whatever reason. Shit happens. So today, I want their support while it's forthcoming. Lord knows, the bastard in the Oval Office ain't exactly on our side. So if Pat Roninson and Pastor Hagee are, well then HALLELUYAH!

Ok, now let's deal with Xtian antisemitism, even among our good Xtian political allies. Hey, I bet you didn't know there was such a thing as antisemtism. I bet you thouoght that the Holocaust happened just because we once made Der Fuerher pay retail!

Many Xtians are antisemitic! DUH DUH DUH. It's in their scriptures, stupid!!

Don't you think that people who are given the book of Thessalonians and the Gospel according to St John as required reading and even after reading them, STILL WANT TO SUPPORT ISRAEL deserve a standing ovation?

Listen, a guy who has been brought up on the New Testament and still wants to be a friend of the only Jewish country in the world gets my vote, unlike the guy who got it last November. Hey, Pastor Hagee can come sit down with me and have gefilte fish in my home anyday. The JUDENRAT in the
president's cabinet can't. It's that simple.

There are hundreds of Xtian countries and hundreds of Moslem countries but only ONE Jewish country, and that country ain't up for grabs.

So president Obama wants to help the poor. GREAT! I support him on that. He wants universal health care. Bully. He wants to sell the only western democracy in the Middle East down the river. Fuck him. He still has about 3 years left to make me vote for him again if he acts right.
Pastor hagee gets my vote today. There is a difference netween them. Obama said, before the election, that he would support Israel. He doesn't.
Pastor Hagee may use antisemtic sources in his ministry but he DOESN'T ACT antisemitic when it comes to the Jewish country, and that's where it's act. What we say is bullshit, especially about our pure and holy KAVANNAH. I am so sick of hearing people talk about motives. It's what we DO that counts. You believe that Israel should be supported because that will help bring back the King of the Jews? Great. I hope your help of Israel brings him back so that he and I can go to Delancy Street on the Lower East Side and have some chopped liver and a KOSHER corn beef sandwitch.
