My heart skipped a beat
when I read your latest poem
to Susan, your lover,
whom longer you have known.

I know how it feels
when loving more than one
my heart is large like yours
but touching we've never known.

In 12 days, I'll be there, Love
Holding and caressing you near
While we are together, I'll be your love
and you'll be mine, my dear.

I won't try to control you
or tell you what to do.
My heart wants to enfold you
As lovers are meant to do.

My heart still beats faster
When I get a note from you
Will our love be lasting
Or will the poem be true?
