THE PAGES OF LIFE

Life is to be lived one page at a time.
Each page is a pause in time.
Turn the pages too swiftly and you miss the message of the day.
Pages of life need to be turned slowly to be enjoyed.
Each page continues on making up a chapter.
The pages that are moist from teardrops will dry in time.
The pages that are sprinkled with love and laughter will shine.
Along with the joy we will experience pages of sorrow, betrayal and disappointments.
It is how we handle these moments that make us strong.
The secret to a happy life is so simple think postive and tap into your
inner strength for we all have it.
Our fears will cripple us if we let them.
When the last pages are turning in your life hold on to the joyful memories
and let the sorrows disolve
Live the last pages of your life each day tell the ones you love that you love them.

WHERE AM I?

I walk aimlessly as if in a trance.
My mind is flooding me with questions I can not answer.
Where am I do I still exist.
I awoke today a stranger to my surroundings I don't understand.
Why am I here for what prupose.
A field of flowers birds singing in the sky yet everything else is foreign to me.
I remember I am a wife, a mother  but everything else is a lost memory.
This place is tranquil but I seem to be alone.
No footsteps, No voices how strange and confusing.
It is not the strangeness that troubles me but the idea that I am alone.
There seems to be no way to go no way to leave just endless space leading nowhere.
My heart beats strong so I must still be alive.
I Know I will lay down and fall asleep and perhaps return home.
Tonight will be forgivness for he will be sorry.

SIGNS OF LOVE

His voice whispers of love.
His embrace feels like love.
His kiss opens the door to my heart.
The meeting of the minds that shout out Yes This Is The One.
The heart that allows the love to flow into it.
The moment that validates that you are in love; you miss him the second he
Walks out the door even tho he will return.
Love is a risk but anything worthwhile is a risk.
The meek shy away  and may miss love.
The brave seek it and if it is found embrace it.
Love completes your happiness.

MY DREAM OF A PERFECT WORLD

I dream of a world where people respect each other regardless of
color, religion or language that they speak.
Where all women are respected and not abused.
Where childen live in a house of joy and safety.
Where houses are a haven of love and respect not just a building.
Where violence is not the norm but the rare.
Where dreams can be realized and not crushed.
Where all children are taught love and respect.
Where war is just a word in the dictionary.
Yes I dare dream of such a world but if only dreams could come true.

SHE BELONGS TO THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS

She walks as regal as any queen.
Her face a masterpiece of beauty.
Her body sensual perfection.
Her eyes intense with passion.
Any man within her sight falls madly in love.
For she is indeed a Goddess for the Ages.
Eyes of ocean blue, Hair  of Golden Sunlight.
She is however not alone
For He walks in front of this beauty.
He turns his head slowly with the knowledge that she belongs
only to Him for he is her Master her only lover.
Any man foolish enough to glance her way or to dare approach
her will regret forever his actions.
He will eliminate any man that is that brave but foolish.
She is to be admired only silently in a man's head.

TONIGHT THERE WILL BE FORGIVENESS

She sits on the kitchen floor cleaning up the broken glass.
She stands up and goes to the sink to wash her face covered with blood.
He was angry with her he did not like the meal she had prepared.
She got what she deserved for she displeased him and she knows better.
This time the beating is so severe makeup will not conceal the bruises.
She has learned to live with this for what else can she do?
He is her husband and she still remembers the abuse her mother endured.
Since childhood she has learned that men do treat women that way it is just the way it is.
She must have everything perfect tonight for him for he will bring flowers
And he will mouth words of love and regret.
She must in the future be a better wife.

****

Jackie volunteered at a shelter for abused women in North Carolina which used the poem TONIGHT THERE WILL BE FORGIVENESS in its newsletter. She felt quite honored about that.

I hope you enjoy these poems; I have not written too much lately but I am once again writing. I never like to lose my thoughts.
